Profile Settings
Your profile settings control how you appear in FWURL and how the platform adapts to your preferences. This guide covers all available profile options and how to configure them.
Accessing Profile Settings
- Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu
- You'll land on the General tab by default
Profile Information
First Name & Last Name
Your name is displayed throughout the FWURL interface and in any shared workspaces or team features.
Best practices:
- Use your real name for professional accounts
- Keep it consistent across your organization
- Names can be updated at any time
Job Title
An optional field to indicate your role or position.
Use cases:
- Team collaboration - helps colleagues identify your role
- Support interactions - provides context for assistance
- Professional appearance in shared workspaces
Email Address
Your email address serves as your primary identifier and login credential.
Features:
- Displayed with verification status
- Used for account recovery
- Receives notifications based on your preferences
Note: Email addresses cannot be changed directly. Contact support if you need to update your email.
Email Verification
A verified email ensures you receive important account notifications and can recover your account if needed.
Verification status:
- Verified - Green checkmark indicates your email is confirmed
- Unverified - You'll see a prompt to verify your email
To verify your email:
- Check your inbox for the verification email
- Click the verification link
- Your status will update automatically
If you haven't received the verification email:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Click Resend verification email in settings
- Contact support if issues persist
Timezone Settings
Timezone configuration affects how dates and times are displayed throughout FWURL, including:
- Link creation timestamps
- Analytics date ranges
- Scheduled link activation/expiration times
- Activity logs
Setting Your Timezone
- Go to Settings → General
- Find the Timezone dropdown
- Select your timezone from the list
- Click Save Changes
Auto-Detect Timezone
FWURL can automatically detect your timezone based on your browser settings:
- Enable the Auto-detect timezone toggle
- Your timezone will be set automatically
- This updates if you travel to a different timezone
When to use auto-detect:
- You travel frequently
- You want timezone to match your current location
- You prefer automatic configuration
When to set manually:
- You want consistent timezone regardless of location
- Your browser timezone is incorrect
- You're managing campaigns for a specific region
Available Timezones
FWURL supports all major timezones worldwide, organized by UTC offset:

Saving Changes
After making changes to your profile:
- Review your updates
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the settings panel
- A success message confirms your changes were saved
Unsaved Changes Warning
If you try to close settings with unsaved changes:
- A confirmation dialog will appear
- Choose Discard to abandon changes
- Choose Cancel to return and save
OAuth/Social Login Users
If you signed up using Google or Facebook:
- Your name may be pre-filled from your social account
- You can still edit your name and title in FWURL
- Email is linked to your social account and cannot be changed
- Some security features are managed by your OAuth provider
Google Sign-In
- Profile photo synced from Google
- Email verification handled by Google
- Password managed through Google account
Facebook Sign-In
- Profile information synced from Facebook
- Email verification handled by Facebook
- Password managed through Facebook account
Profile Best Practices
For Individual Users
- Keep your profile up to date
- Verify your email for account security
- Set timezone to your primary work location
For Team Members
- Use consistent naming conventions
- Include your job title for team clarity
- Coordinate timezone settings with your team
For Agencies/Managers
- Consider using role-based naming
- Set timezone to client's primary location when relevant
- Keep profile professional for client-facing interactions
Troubleshooting
Changes Not Saving
If your changes aren't saving:
- Check your internet connection
- Refresh the page and try again
- Clear browser cache if issues persist
- Contact support if the problem continues
Timezone Displaying Incorrectly
If times appear wrong:
- Verify your timezone setting is correct
- Check if auto-detect is enabled when it shouldn't be
- Clear browser cache and refresh
- Ensure your browser's timezone is correct
Email Verification Not Received
If you can't find the verification email:
- Check spam/junk folders
- Search for emails from
noreply@fwurl.com - Click Resend verification email
- Add FWURL to your email whitelist
- Contact support if issues persist
