QR Codes

Every link you create in FWURL automatically comes with a high-resolution QR code. QR codes bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds, allowing users to scan a code on print materials to visit your link.

Generating a QR Code

When creating a link using Advanced Create, you'll see a QR Code section.

  1. Expand the QR Code section.
  2. You will see a preview of your QR code.
  3. You can download it immediately or wait until the link is created.

You can generate a QR code for any existing link:

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Find the link you want.
  3. Click the QR Code icon (or click the three dots menu → QR Code).
  4. A modal will appear with your QR code.

Downloading QR Codes

FWURL provides high-quality formats suitable for both digital and print use.

  • PNG: Best for web, email, and social media.
  • SVG: Best for print materials (business cards, flyers, billboards) as it can be resized without losing quality.

To download:

  1. Open the QR Code modal.
  2. Click the Download button.
  3. Select your preferred format.

Customization (Pro)

Feature coming soon

Future updates will allow you to customize your QR codes to match your brand:

  • Colors: Change the foreground and background colors.
  • Logo: Upload your logo to appear in the center of the QR code.
  • Frames: Add a "Scan Me" frame or custom text.

Best Practices for QR Codes

1. Size Matters

Ensure the QR code is large enough to be scanned.

  • Minimum: 2x2 cm (0.8x0.8 inches) for print.
  • Distance: The further away the user is, the larger the code needs to be.

2. Contrast

Always maintain high contrast. A dark code on a light background works best. Avoid using similar colors (e.g., light blue on white).

3. Call to Action (CTA)

Don't just print the code. Tell users why they should scan it.

  • "Scan to get 20% off"
  • "Scan to view menu"
  • "Scan to register"

4. Test Before Printing

Always test your QR code with multiple devices (iOS and Android) and apps before sending it to print.
