Advanced Targeting
Advanced Targeting allows you to send users to different destination URLs based on their device, location, or platform. This ensures every user gets the best possible experience tailored to their context.
Device Targeting (Pro)
Device targeting lets you define specific destinations for different types of devices.
Supported Devices
- Mobile: Smartphones (iPhone, Android phones)
- Tablet: iPads, Android tablets
- Desktop: Laptops and desktop computers
How to Configure
- In the Advanced Create form, find the Mobile Detection or Targeting section.
- Enable Device Targeting.
- Enter a specific URL for Mobile users.
- Enter a specific URL for Tablet users (optional).
- Users on Desktop will go to the main Destination URL.
Use Cases
- App Downloads: Send mobile users directly to the App Store/Play Store, while desktop users go to a landing page.
- Mobile-Optimized Content: Redirect mobile users to a simplified, fast-loading version of your page.
- Deep Linking: Open a specific screen within your mobile app if installed.
Platform Targeting (Pro)
Refine your targeting further by distinguishing between operating systems.
Supported Platforms
- iOS: iPhone and iPad
- Android: Android phones and tablets
- Windows / macOS / Linux: Desktop operating systems
Use Cases
- App Stores: Send iOS users to the Apple App Store and Android users to the Google Play Store from a single link.
- Software Downloads: Automatically serve the correct installer (
.exe,.dmg,.apk) based on the user's OS.
Geo-Targeting (Coming Soon)
Feature coming soon
Geo-targeting will allow you to redirect users based on their physical location.
Capabilities
- Country: Redirect users from different countries to localized sites (e.g.,
site.com/usvssite.com/uk). - Region/City: Target specific areas for local promotions.
Use Cases
- Global Marketing: Direct users to the correct regional store or language version.
- Compliance: Ensure users only access content allowed in their jurisdiction.
- Local Events: Promote events specific to the user's city.
Tracking Pixels (Pro)
While not strictly "targeting," adding tracking pixels allows you to build audiences for retargeting campaigns on other platforms.
Supported Pixels
- Facebook Pixel (Meta)
- Google Analytics
- LinkedIn Insight Tag
- TikTok Pixel
- Twitter Pixel
How it Works
When a user clicks your short link, the tracking pixel fires before they are redirected to the destination. This adds them to your retargeting audience, allowing you to show them ads later, even if they don't convert immediately.
